Garden Clearance in Cornwall
Garden clearance in Cornwall is the full cutting back and removal of overgrown plants, brambles, weeds and general garden debris, taking a neglected garden back to a clear, usable space. A garden clearance service covers the whole job, not just the cutting: overgrown growth is cut down, rubbish and waste are collected, everything is taken away and disposed of responsibly, and the ground is left clear and ready for whatever comes next. It’s the right service for heavily overgrown gardens, empty properties, house moves and plots waiting to be landscaped.
Kernow Landscape Gardening provides garden clearance for homes in Redruth, Camborne, Truro, Falmouth, Helston and across Cornwall, for homeowners, landlords and anyone who has bought, inherited or let a garden that needs a fresh start.
What does a garden clearance include?
Every garden is different, so a clearance is planned around what yours needs. It typically includes the following.
Brambles, ivy and weeds
Brambles, ivy, long grass and established weeds are cut and cleared from beds, borders, paths and patios, back to bare ground where needed.
Garden waste and debris
All the cuttings, rubbish and garden debris, including broken fencing and general garden clutter, are collected and taken away, so you’re left with a clear space and nothing to dispose of.
If your garden is overgrown but doesn’t need everything removed, a garden tidy-up may be all you need. Once it’s cleared, my regular garden maintenance keeps it that way, and I can also help with hedge trimming and weed removal. If you’re clearing the garden to start again, I can design and build the new one too, with landscaping from patios and paving to turf and planting.
Who is a garden clearance for?
A garden clearance is the right choice if:
- Your garden has been left for a long time and is completely overgrown
- You’re a landlord or letting agent preparing a property between tenants
- You’re selling a house, or dealing with a property you’ve inherited, and the garden needs clearing
- You’ve bought a house with a neglected garden and want a fresh start
- You’re clearing the way for new landscaping, a lawn, a patio or a build
- You’re older, unwell or unable to take it on yourself, and don’t know where to begin
There are no minimum sizes and no judgement about how overgrown the garden has got. I’ve worked in gardens in every state.
What should I know before a garden clearance?
A garden that’s been left for a while can have more going on than it looks, so a few checks are part of any clearance.
- Nesting birds. Dense growth is checked for active nests before it’s cut. It’s an offence to damage an active nest, so work is paused if one is found.
- Invasive plants. If you think you have Japanese knotweed, please don’t cut it or dig it up, as that can spread it. It needs specialist treatment, so tell me what you’ve found and I’ll point you in the right direction.
- Access. It helps to know how I can get to the garden and where the waste can be loaded, because that affects how long the job takes.
- What stays. Tell me about any plants, features or structures you want to keep, so they’re marked and protected.
Send photos if you can, and I’ll tell you what I’d expect to find. If you’re deciding when to do it, here’s why autumn is the best time to prep your Cornwall garden for spring.
How does it work?
- Get in touch. Call, email or send a few photos of the garden.
- Free quote. I’ll look at the garden (or your photos), talk through what you want to keep and what needs to go, and give you a clear quote with no obligation. The price depends on the size of the garden, how overgrown it is, how much waste there is to take away, and access.
- Agree a date. We pick a date that suits you, or the deadline you’re working to.
- The garden is cleared. I do the work myself, take all the waste away, and leave the area clear and tidy.
