Garden Maintenance in Cornwall
Garden maintenance in Cornwall is regular, scheduled care that keeps your garden tidy, healthy and under control all year round. A garden maintenance service covers the jobs that need doing again and again: lawn mowing and edging, hedge trimming, weeding, border upkeep and removing garden waste. Visits are weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on the size of your garden and how you like it kept.
Kernow Landscape Gardening provides regular garden maintenance for homes in Redruth, Camborne, Truro, Falmouth, Helston and across Cornwall, for homeowners, busy families, older residents and second-home owners who want a reliable garden without the weekend work.
What does a garden maintenance service include?
A regular maintenance visit is built around the jobs your garden needs. Every garden is different, but visits typically cover the following.
Hedge and shrub trimming
Hedges and shrubs are trimmed back to keep their shape and stop them spreading onto paths, windows and neighbours’ gardens. I check for nesting birds before every cut, and larger reductions are done outside nesting season. See hedge trimming for more.
Weeding
Borders, beds, paths and gravel are weeded by hand so weeds are removed at the root, not just cut off at the top. Doing it little and often is far easier than dealing with a bed that has been left for months. See weed removal for more.
General tidying and waste removal
Paths, patios and corners are swept and tidied, and all garden waste is taken away and disposed of properly, so you don’t have a pile to deal with.
Who is regular garden maintenance for?
Regular maintenance is the right choice if:
- You’d rather spend your weekends enjoying the garden than working in it
- Your garden grows faster than you can keep up with, especially in spring and summer
- You’ve just had a tidy-up or clearance and want to keep it that way
- You’re older, have limited mobility or a busy work schedule, or live elsewhere part of the year
- You look after a holiday let or second home and need the garden kept presentable
If your garden has already got away from you, that’s fine. I can start with a one-off tidy-up and then move you onto regular visits, with no judgement.
How often does a garden need maintaining?
Most gardens do best with fortnightly visits through the growing season and monthly visits in winter. The right frequency depends on a few things:
- Weekly suits larger lawns, formal hedges, and gardens you want kept immaculate
- Fortnightly is the most common schedule and works for most family gardens
- Monthly suits smaller or low-maintenance gardens, and the quieter winter months
I’ll suggest a schedule when I see the garden, and you can change it as the seasons change. If you’re wondering whether winter visits are worth it, I’ve written about what Cornwall gardens actually need in winter.
How does it work?
- Get in touch. Call, email or send a few photos of your garden.
- Free quote. I’ll take a look at the garden (or your photos), talk through what you want, and give you a clear quote with no obligation.
- Agree a schedule. We pick a frequency that suits you and your garden.
- Regular visits. I carry out each visit myself, tidy up afterwards, and take the waste away.
