Who is behind Kernow Landscape Gardening?

Hello – I’m James. A landscape gardener based in Redruth, and I’m glad you’re here.

I know that choosing someone to come and work in your garden takes trust. So before you pick up the phone, I’d like to tell you a little bit about who I am, how I work, and what you can expect when you book with me.

I’m not a big company. I’m just one person – a young Cornishman who has spent over twelve years working as a landscape gardener across Cornwall, and who takes genuine pride in every garden he works in.

From lawn care and hedge trimming to full garden clearances – every job across Cornwall is handled personally, carefully, and with the kind of attention to detail that only comes from truly loving the work.

MY STORY

How experienced is James?

I’ve been doing this since I was sixteen years old. It all started at my uncle’s landscaping company, straight out of school. I didn’t have a grand plan – I just knew I liked being outdoors and working with my hands. From that very first day, trimming hedges and cutting grass across Cornwall, I was hooked.

“Twelve years later, I still get a real sense of satisfaction from seeing a garden transformed. A freshly cut lawn, a neatly trimmed hedge, a cleared and tidy space – it sounds simple, but it makes a real difference to people’s lives.“

I spent over a decade learning every aspect of landscape gardening – how Cornwall’s climate affects lawns and hedges through the seasons, how to handle everything from a small front garden in need of a tidy to a completely overgrown plot that hasn’t been touched in years.

In 2026 I made the decision to go out on my own. Kernow Landscape Gardening is my business – built from scratch, run entirely by me, and something I’m incredibly proud of. Every job I take on reflects directly on my name, and that keeps my standards high.

What can I expect when James works in my garden?

I know a lot of people have had experiences with tradespeople who don’t show up on time, don’t communicate, or leave a job half finished. I want you to know that’s not how I work – not ever.

I’ll always leave it spotless

All cuttings, waste, and garden debris are cleared and removed before I leave. You’ll come outside to a finished, tidy space every single time.

I’ll be straightforward with you

No confusing quotes, no hidden extras, no pressure. I’ll tell you clearly what needs doing, what it’ll cost, and give you an honest recommendation.

I’ll always be on time

If I say I’ll be there, I’ll be there. Your time matters and I respect that. If anything ever changes, you’ll hear from me well in advance.

I’ll treat your garden with care

Your garden is part of your home. I treat every property as if it were my own – carefully, respectfully, and with attention to the details that matter to you.

I’ll get back to you quickly

When you call, email, or message me, you’ll hear back promptly – usually the same day. No waiting around wondering if anyone received your message.

I’ll do a job you’re proud of

I won’t leave until the work is done properly. Not just finished – properly done. The kind of result you’ll want to show your neighbours.
